I ) The face of the man - We read in John 1:14; “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth". It was necessary for Jesus, in order to rescue men, to become a man, that is to incarnate in the womb of Mary, to participate in our nature and race, as women's seed, meeting Genesis 3:15, with the purposes of : our problems, our illnesses, our pain and our anxieties, to feel, for us, compassion (Philippians 2:7; Hebrews 2:17,18; 4:15; 5:1,2.) but, more importantly to save us. To save us He needed to take body and to offer it as sacrifice for the sins of men; also needed to be a man(Hebrews 10:10), suffering from pain instead of men, on the cross and outside the cross: work (Isaiah 53:3); physical needs (tiredness, hunger, heat, cold, sleep, weakness etc.). experimentally needed to know and confront our moral and spiritual problems, including face and defeat Satan; needed to suffer, for us, pain, sorrow, riots, sadness, disappointment, loneliness, anxiety and ingratitude; He needed, as a man, in place of sinners, to be held in ridicule, to be rejected, humiliated, arrested, beaten, spitted, insulted, flagellate, mistaken for criminals, scolding, sarcasm, tried, challenged, convicted, crucified and dead physically. But the perfect man, ideal, holy, irreproachable and role model for all human creatures, to be the fair Savior (which justified many) in place of man, in order to save it from eternal damnation.
Jesus Christ as savior is typified in the "FACE OF MAN." We have the following outline for the study of this doctrine:

B-Gospel Lucas
C-How presents Jesus as "Son of Man"

A - The first face that Ezekiel saw was the ''FACE OF MAN " presenting "Jesus Christ, the Son of Man as Savior " who was sacrificed for us. We need this Savior, because we all sin (Rom 3:23). You must believe in Him (Acts 16:31) to be born again (John 3:3) and have the name written in the book of life (Revel 20:15). For our salvation, Christ died for all and resurrected (Rom 8: 34). He makes the intercession for us (HEB 7:25), defending us (I John 2:1-2) and frees us from sin and death (Rom 8:2). Jesus Christ the Savior, our Easter lamb (I Cor 5:7), as the people of Israel in Egypt were protected from the death by the blood of a lamb sacrificed, so Jesus protects us from eternal death by His blood and ensures salvation. (Ex 12:1 -7; I John 2:2). This is the first aspect of the Gospel Foursquare.
JESUS CHRIST, THE SAVIOR
B - The Gospel of Luke presents Jesus Christ, the "savior" who "came to seek and save what was lost" (Luke 19:10).
C - Luke introduced the Savior Jesus Christ as "Son of Man", perfect and ideal in the body, the soul and spirit. This gospel was written especially for the Greeks, whose ideal was the perfect man.
Who is the "Son of Man"? The "Son of Man" is the "Son of God." In John 1:1 we read: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Still, the Scripture says in John 1:14 that ".... the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth". I Tim 3:16 says: " And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. ".
Why the Word was made flesh?
01 - To have a body to be offered as a sacrifice for sin of men. "...... Sanctified by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ ......" (Heb 10:10)
02 - For His Blood could be an expiation on the altar (the cross) because, "for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul "(Lev 17:11).
03 - What became the perfect Lamb of Sacrifice. (John 1:29; Isa 53:7; I Pe 1:18,19).
04 – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”. (João 3:16).
Let's see some of the human aspects of Jesus that it is focused on the Scripture:
01 - He is "the seed of the woman" (Gen 3:15).
02 - He is "a man of pain and work" (Isa 53:3)
03 - He called himself the "Son of Man" (Mat 9:6).
04 – He had hunger (Luke 4:2), had thirsty (John 19:28), was tired (John 4:6), was tried (HEB 4:15), felt agony (John 11:35), felt pain (Mar 8:3 l), felt regret (Mat 26:38).
05 - " But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men” (Phi 2:7,8)
06 – He suffered like a man: He was spitted, flagellate, made fun of, spurned, rejected, humiliated and killed. “Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows" (Isa 53:4).
The "Son of Man" resurrected by the third day (I Cor 15:4), was seen by many (I Cor 15:4-8), rose to heaven (Acts 1:9) and is on the right hand of God Father (HEB 1:1,3).
D - The Symbol of Salvation is "CROSS". It is empty because Christ lives. (I Cor 1:18-20)
E - The doctrine of Salvation is symbolized on the flag of the Church of the Foursquare by the scarlet square, representing the "blood of Christ poured out for us." |
